John Bondlow, LMT, NCTMB (Licensed & Nationally Certified Bodyworker), received his Massage Therapy certification in 2001 from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, MA. He concentrated in Clinical Pathologies and Sports Injuries, interning in areas of Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, and Acupuncture. John has been practicing Massage Therapy for over 7 years in downtown Boston.

Studying both Chinese and Japanese Martial Arts during school, he developed correlations between massage and martial arts, incorporating martial arts postures and applications into his massage methods.

John's study of Shiatsu in school propelled him towards studying the energetic aspect of the body to a deeper level, researching Chinese Tui-Na and Qigong Massage. Thereafter, he learned more refined Eastern approaches to Japanese Massage while instructing Western Massage styles, exercise, and self-maintenance techniques at Art Matsumoto’s headquarters and their 8 Salons in Osaka, Japan.

John returned to The Sports Club/LA in downtown Boston where he began integrating his experience and techniques with Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, and Personal Trainers there. Listening to 3 views: the clients, other practitioners involved, and his own analyses, he was able to more carefully hone his skills on assessing, understanding, and knowing his clients issues more thoroughly, helping them progress and recover more efficiently. This began a stronger drive towards increasing and promoting the importance and effectiveness of integrative therapies. John was also the first to introduce a massage course through The Yoga Studio. "ITB Release," targeting Iliotibial Band restriction, is geared towards core stabilization and improving Yoga flexibility.

Today, John administers Massage Therapy sessions and also teaches Massage Therapy techniques for self-healing at YMAA, Yang's Martial Arts Association, in Jamaica Plain, MA. He is looking forward to continuing his research and development of Western and Eastern Integrative Therapeutic approaches to healing.
